DEBRA shop in Shawlands gets a makeover!

Councillor Graham welcomed those who had gathered outside for the official opening of the new look DEBRA charity shop in Shawlands.

The newly refurbished charity shop at Unit 1, 10 Shawlands Arcade, Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands (G41 3NN) was officially opened by Councillor Graham and DEBRA Director of Retail, Maureen Nickson.

The inviting DEBRA store specialises in selling good quality furniture and other large items. As well as furniture, the shop has a good selection of the usual clothes, books, toys and CDs.

Area Manager Barbara Scally said: "We are delighted that Councillor Graham took time out of his busy schedule to open the store."

"Re-organising the shop and getting ready was a big team effort. I'd like to thank our volunteers and everyone who came to help. We also need more volunteers to come and help in the shop. We're a friendly bunch and new helpers will receive a warm welcome. Volunteers generally work one shift a week with hours to suit them."
