DEBRA's work wouldn't be possible without the help of our supporters, and this includes charitable trusts and foundations.

Some of our trust partners give towards specific areas of our work, either our medical research programme or our work to directly support people living with EB, whilst others give towards our work generally. We recognise that without their support our ongoing mission to cure EB and to ensure families in the UK who are living daily with this devastating condition have the support and help that they need, would be even more difficult.

    Our history

    DEBRA was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Hilton whose daughter Debra had Dystrophic EB – the charity was the world’s first EB patient support group.

    Dystrophic EB (DEB)

    Can be mild or severe (dominant or recessive). The defective gene and fragility occurs below the basement membrane within the superficial dermis.
