Michel Roux Jr at DEBRA Great Chefs Dinner 2023

We are delighted to share the news that Michel Roux Jnr has agreed to become an ambassador for DEBRA UK.

Michel is a world-renowned chef, who has run the hugely successful Le Gavroche restaurant in London since 1991, securing two Michelin stars. He is also a very familiar face to millions of people due to numerous appearances on TV shows including MasterChef: The Professionals, Saturday Kitchen, and Food and Drink.

Michel has been a supporter of the charity for many years, which has included him hosting our annual Great Chefs Dinner which this year raised over £100,000 towards our A Life Free of Pain appeal.

In his new role Michel will use his media profile and connections to help raise awareness of EB and DEBRA. Commenting on his appointment, Michel said:

DEBRA is a charity that is close to my heart, through the years I have always been touched by the strength of people living with EB and I have tried to do as much as I can to help raise awareness of this awful condition through the annual Great Chef Dinners. Now as one chapter of my life closes with Le Gavroche closing its doors in January, I look forward to starting a new chapter including this new elevated role as a DEBRA Ambassador where I want to use my profile to help generate much-needed awareness and hopefully support for the charity so that they can invest in research which could mean in the future no one must suffer with this cruel condition.
