On Monday 4th September 2023, our annual Great Chef's Dinner returned to The Langham, London. This year, the evening took place in the dazzling Grand Ballroom of The Langham, seating over 200 guests.

Our host, Michel Roux Jr was joined by famous TV chefs Simon Rimmer, Ravneet Gill, Bryn Williams and recent winner of Channel 4 and Netflix’s ‘Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef', Dom Taylor.

On arrival, guests enjoyed a Champagne reception out on the terrace, with canapés prepared by Executive Chef of The Langham, Berwyn Davies, before being seated at their tables for the evening.

Between the main course and dessert, we welcomed our Vice-President, Scottish footballing legend, Graeme Souness to the stage with BBC journalist John Maguire. In a live Q&A, John asked Graeme about the team's English Channel swim in July, why they decided to do the swim, how it went and what it means to have raised over £1 million for people living with EB.

Graeme Souness Q&A at Great ChefAfter dessert was served, Bargain Hunt star Charlie Ross took to the stage to deliver the live auction, with generously donated prizes including a 7 night stay in a Tuscan family farmhouse, lunch with Graeme Souness at the Stafford, London, and a live painting by expressionist and action painter Ben Mosley.

The money raised at Great Chef's Dinner will go towards our A Life Free of Pain appeal, aiming to raise £5 million by the end of 2023 to develop treatments that will enable people to live free from the pain of EB.

A big thank you to all our sponsors, auction donors and to everyone who has contributed to making this a great evening, and for all your invaluable support for DEBRA.
