Summer shop openings

June has been a busy month for the retail division at DEBRA as we saw three new shops open their doors.

The tills were ringing at the DEBRA shop in Portslade on Wednesday 24th June. Councillor Denise Cobb was on hand to officially cut the ribbon, at 77 Boundary Road, and happily met with staff and volunteers.

On Friday 26th June, Area Manager, Lynn Poole, opened the new DEBRA shop at 717 Bristol Road South in Northfield (B31 2JT). The opening was attended by DEBRA Director of Retail, Maureen Nickson and Regional Fundraising Manager, Andrea Newman.

Tuesday 30th June saw customers queue up to be the first through the doors of the new and inviting DEBRA shop situated at 23 High Street, Bognor (PO21 1RS). The team enjoyed a successful first day and were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Bognor, Councillor Jeanette Warr, to the shop.

All shops specialise in selling good quality furniture and other large items. In addition to this they have a good selection of bric-a-brac, clothing, accessories, household items, books, toys and media items.

The DEBRA charity shops provide invaluable awareness of this rare and debilitating condition on the high street, but more importantly the steady income stream necessary to enable DEBRA to continue its focus of providing both care and research.
