New shop on the block!

Customers queued outside to be the first through the door to bag a bargain at the opening of the new DEBRA charity shop at 31 Teviot Walk in Cumbernauld (G67 1NG). Area Manager, Agnes Vallelly and her team were joined at the opening by bagpipe player Steven and Centre Manager, Robert Barr. Musician Steven piped the customers through the door to the delight of the shoppers.

The new and inviting DEBRA shop will specialise in selling good quality furniture and other large items. As well as furniture, the new shop will have a good selection of the usual clothes, books, toys and CDs.

DEBRA Area Manager, Agnes Vallelly, said: "We are delighted that the Centre Manager, Robert Barr and local piper Steven were able to attend. The bagpipe music added a really upbeat feel to the opening."

"Setting up the new shop was a big team effort and I'd like to thank the local community for supporting our appeal for donated goods. Please call the shop on 01236 727055 for your free furniture collection.

"We are also looking for volunteers to come and help in the shop. We're a friendly bunch and new helpers will receive a warm welcome. Volunteers generally work one shift a week with hours to suit them."

If you have any unwanted furniture or electrical goods you would like to donate to the shop (FREE collection available) or a few hours you could spare volunteering, please call the shop on 01236 727055.
