On Thursday 5th January, our Senior Management Team and trustees were welcomed to the University of Birmingham and School of Dentistry to observe the incredible DEBRA-funded research projects taking place there, including…

A mouth/throat spray treatment to improve eating and swallowing.
A project investigating wound healing in all types of EB.
Research into skin microbiome and immunity.
A study investigating how blistering can affect the way people with EB simplex (EBS) walk.

Thank you to the team at Birmingham for an incredibly informative and encouraging day.

We look forward to seeing some life-changing results from these research projects, which will help our EB community with the daily pain and inflammation they face.
