DEBRA Scotland

Did you know that as well as the team based in our head office in Bracknell, we also have a dedicated DEBRA team based in Scotland?

The Scotland fundraising team are busy organising events throughout the year, whether that be the annual Big Sports Quiz Dinner, typically held in Glasgow and attended by Vice-President and Sporting Legend, Graeme Souness, or donning a kilt and joining a Kiltwalk in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, or Dundee spreading awareness about DEBRA and epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

We also have a dedicated person in Scotland to support people living with EB and their carers. We are the national charity for people living with EB in the UK and are committed to supporting the EB community with a range of services intended to enhance quality of life, whether they are members of DEBRA or not. However, becoming a member of DEBRA makes it easier to access our services and exclusive benefits, currently we have just over 150 members living in Scotland. You can apply to become a DEBRA member online, and membership is free; we’re here to support you.

If you are looking to get involved with any fundraising activities based in Scotland, or if you are a DEBRA member who would like to get in touch with the Community Support Team, please reach out to one of our team members below:

DEBRA participants at the start line of the 2022 Kiltwalk.

Kiltwalk is Scotland's favourite mass participation walking event and with four amazing locations and a variety of walk lengths to choose from, there’s a Kiltwalk for everyone!

Participating in a Kiltwalk is a great opportunity to get active and to support DEBRA as we take a few more strides towards our goal of a life free of pain for people living with EB.

There are four Kiltwalk events taking place across Scotland in 2023 including GlasgowAberdeen, Dundee, and Edinburgh, so you’ve got plenty of time to get some training in, whether you’re up for the wee wander or the mighty stride!

In 2022 DEBRA raised a huge £10,000 at the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, which could fund a researcher to work on finding treatments and cures for EB for 6 months, or contribute towards a new DEBRA holiday home to provide respite to EB families, so your participation has the potential to make a big difference to the lives of people living with EB.

Price for a Kiltwalk entry starts at just £12.50 and if you select DEBRA as your chosen charity, we could receive up to 125% of the funds you raise with Gift Aid.
