We'd like to congratulate Isla Grist for being awarded Pride of Scotland's 'Teenager of Courage' award!

14 year old Isla lives with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB), which causes her skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch. It takes incredible courage to live with the constant pain and itch that Isla, and so many others living with EB, have to go through.

Isla was the inspiration for Graeme Souness’s recent English Channel Swim, which he completed with Isla's dad Andy and four others, to raise funds for people living with EB. In Graeme’s words, “this is a very special lady you’re in the company of.”
