We’re thrilled to announce our dine with DEBRA lunch aboard the floating Fingal hotel in Edinburgh has raised £20,000 towards our A Life Free of Pain appeal.

On Friday 24th November, DEBRA Scotland hosted an event onboard the stunning Fingal floating hotel in Edinburgh. The hotel is owned by the Royal Yacht Brittania and sits further down the dock in Leith, Edinburgh. Onboard this amazing and unique venue, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch and afternoon of entertainment including music from talented cellist Jennifer Casi Suarez on an electric cello. A small number of guests even went on a tour of the boat which boasts 24 cabins and a beautiful deck top restaurant and bar.

John Beattie, Scottish broadcaster and former rugby union player, hosted the event, with special rugby guests Chris Paterson and Kenny Milne for a very interesting Q&A. Thank you to DEBRA member Lucy Margaret Lott for sharing her inspirational story and really touching the hearts of guests, many of which had not heard of EB before. Special thanks to Professor Gareth Inman for giving his insight into EB research to date, and drug repurposing to help fight EB.

A huge thank you to our supporters, sponsors, and friends for joining the event and helping to raise awareness of EB. A further special mention to Waverton Investment Management for sponsoring the event.

It was great to see many familiar faces and new supporters who have pledged to join the fight against EB for the long-term.
