DEBRA charity shops re-open

Following the relaxation of lockdown rules by the Government and the guidelines set out for retail stores, we are delighted to be planning to re-open some of our stores throughout June.

DEBRA charity stores are vital in our fight against EB - the painful, genetic skin condition which causes skin to tear or blister at the slightest touch. Through generous donations, the stores raise vital funds to enable us to provide daily support to people living with EB, as well as fund ground-breaking research projects aiming to find treatments and ultimately a cure.

Hygiene measures

Stores will open in a phased approach to allow us to ensure that safety and hygiene standards are met. The wellbeing of staff, volunteers and customers is our top priority and we will be implementing the following safety and hygiene measures:

  • Where possible we are encouraging contactless payment in all stores rather than cash but will still accept cash.
  • Social distancing in stores - we’ll ensure the recommended 2m rule is followed with clear signage.
  • We will have a contactless donation option in store - when your local store is open we recommend you call the store in advance for more information or enquire within.
  • Space to shop safely - we will limit the number of people allowed in our stores in one go.
  • Cleaning stations - free hand sanitiser provided at the entrance of each store.
  • Quarantine and cleaning of all donated stock - as a precautionary measure, all clothing will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. All furniture and hard items will be sanitised prior to shop floor placement. Enquire in store for more details
  • Reduced opening hours to enable thorough in-store cleaning.
  • Changing rooms closed.

Delivery & Collection

  • All our drivers will be equipped with PPE and will maintain social distancing
  • Our collection and delivery service is 'doorstep only'
  • Please ask staff in-store for more details

We kindly ask that if customers are displaying symptoms they must not enter the store and that those with stock donations call the store to check when would be the safest and most convenient time to drop off donations.

We will be arranging furniture collections once the relevant local store is open, furniture collections can be requested here.
