We're delighted to announce that our annual Fight Night event has raised over £140,000 to help #FightEB, making it DEBRA's most successful Fight Night in 5 years!

The event took place on Friday 18th November, supported by legendary boxing manager and DEBRA Vice-President, Frank Warren in association with Queensberry Promotions. Frank Warren is in his 17th year of hosting the event for DEBRA.

Frank Warren said:

I was first introduced to EB and the work that DEBRA does by a young man called Jonny Kennedy. You may well have seen his documentary ‘The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off’, released in March 2004, not long after Jonny’s death. In his life Jonny inspired me, as he did many others, to get involved with DEBRA. As a result, the first DEBRA Fight Night was born. 17 years on, I am proud to be involved with DEBRA as we continue to fight this truly horrendous condition. Over the years, I’ve seen the support, special healthcare, and research as they have developed, and now we have research projects delivering potential treatments through to clinical trials.

The money raised at Fight Night will go towards our A Life Free of Pain appeal, aiming to raise £5 million by the end of 2023 to develop treatments that will enable people to live free from the pain of EB. The funds raised at Fight Night have helped take the total over the £1,000,000 mark.

The evening started with a champagne reception on arrival at the stunning The Brewery venue on Chiswell Street, London.

Guests were then escorted to their tables in The Brewery's Porter Tun room where they enjoyed a gourmet three-course dinner with wine.
