Big ben houses of parliament

Yesterday evening (Tuesday 9th May), an adjournment debate took place in parliament focused on funding for drug repurposing trials for treatment of epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

We are very grateful to Gareth Bacon MP for Orpington, who requested and led the adjournment debate, and to James Sunderland MP for Bracknell, who also participated in the debate, both for their support with this debate, and in supporting our campaign to secure funding to accelerate clinical drug trials.

DEBRA’s objective remains to clinically test drugs that are already available within the NHS to treat other inflammatory skin conditions, including psoriasis and eczema, as we believe these drugs could radically improve quality of life for people living with EB too. We hope that this adjournment debate will help raise awareness and lead to further dialogue which will eventually lead to effective drug treatments being made available for people living with EB.
