On Saturday 13th April, 16 determined walkers from the Jammers Fans Association (JFA) took part in a 10-mile charity walk to raise funds for DEBRA UK in memory of one of their members, Darren Gibbons. Darren sadly passed away in November 2022 in a tragic accident and lived with EB. 

The JFA are an independent group of supporters of Maldon & Tiptree Football Club and so fittingly, the walk started at 8.15am at the Tiptree Jam Factory. With a couple of pit stops along the way, the walk was completed in just over four hours at the finishing line at Maldon Stadium. Just in time for kick off for the Jammers! 

Through magnificent fundraising efforts, the team doubled their original target and have raised over £3,000 which will be split between DEBRA UK and Farleigh Hospice. The JFA are already looking at future fundraising events and raising more money for both charities.  

We can’t thank them enough for their efforts in memory of Darren and for raising vital funds to help those living with EB.
