£40,000 raised for ‘Unseen Scars’ Christmas appeal

Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors and a kind match-funder, our ‘Unseen Scars’ Christmas appeal raised an incredible £40,000 to support people living with EB.

This success means we can provide life-changing mental health support for people like Sarah, who lives with epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS) and courageously shared her story as part of the campaign.

Because of your support, we can now:

  • Extend the CST Information and Enquiries Line to five days a week.
  • Offer every DEBRA member 24/7 online mental health support.
  • Fully fund our EB Community Support Team to provide nationwide assistance on various issues, including mental health.

Living with EBS often means facing hidden challenges, and mental health struggles can feel like ‘unseen scars.’ Your contributions are helping to ensure no one has to face these challenges alone.

Beyond mental health support, your donations also allow us to continue providing specialist products that improve the quality of life for all EB types. These include items like breathable insoles, specialist shoes, and socks that enhance mobility and comfort.

Every appeal makes a difference. Not only do they raise awareness about EB, but they also ensure we can provide the essential care and support our community needs.

Thank you for helping us BE the difference for people living with EB.
