Hygiene & safety measures

Following the relaxation of lockdown rules by the Government and the guidelines set out for retail stores, we are delighted to have now re-opened some of our stores.

Find out which stores are open

DEBRA charity stores are vital in our fight against EB - the painful, genetic skin condition which causes skin to tear or blister at the slightest touch. Through generous donations, the stores raise vital funds to enable us to provide daily support to people living with EB, as well as fund ground-breaking research projects aiming to find treatments and ultimately a cure.

Hygiene measures in-store

Stores will open in a phased approach to allow us to ensure that safety and hygiene standards are met. The wellbeing of staff, volunteers and customers is our top priority and we will be implementing the following safety and hygiene measures:

  • Where possible we are encouraging contactless payment in all stores.
  • Screens have been placed at counters and checkout areas.
  • Social distancing - we’ll ensure the recommended 2m rule is followed with clear signage.
  • We will have a contactless donation option in store - we recommend you call the store in advance for more information or enquire within.
  • Space to shop safely - we will limit the number of people allowed in our stores at one time.
  • Cleaning stations - free hand sanitiser provided at the entrance of each store.
  • As a precautionary measure, and in line with the Government guidelines for each nation, all donations to stores in England will be quarantined for 48 hours and 72 hours in Scotland stores. All furniture and hard items will be sanitised prior to shop floor placement.
  • Reduced opening hours to enable thorough in-store cleaning. Check opening hours here.
  • Changing rooms closed.

Delivery & Collection

  • All our drivers will be equipped with PPE and will maintain social distancing

We kindly ask that if customers are displaying symptoms they must not enter the store and that those with stock donations call the store to check when would be the safest and most convenient time to drop off donations.

All Furniture & Electrical stores are now open and furniture collections can be requested here. Not all traditional stores are open just yet, you can find details of your local store below.

We very much look forward to safely welcoming staff, volunteers and customers back to our stores.
