Description

Hosted by Michel Roux, the DEBRA Great Chefs’ Dinner returns to The Langham, London on Monday 28 September 2026.

DEBRA’s annual Great Chefs’ Dinner is a hugely popular sell-out event attracting a stellar line up of celebrity chefs. The sumptuous black-tie dinner, now in its eleventh year, will take place in the dazzling Grand Ballroom. DEBRA Ambassador Michel Roux will once again host the evening and will lead the culinary team and menu on the night. The gourmet food will be accompanied by an expert selection of fine wines.

Last year’s 10th anniversary Great Chefs Dinner raised an incredible £240,000, helping DEBRA to support people living with the rare, extremely painful skin condition, epidermolysis bullosa (EB), also known as ‘butterfly skin’.

Rafael Cagali

Mare by Rafael Cagali – Starter: Aged Hamachi, Ajo Blanco, Radish and Datterini

Born in São Paulo to Brazilian and Italian grandparents, Rafael Cagali studied Economics at the University of São Paulo before leaving Brazil for London. To fund his studies, he began working part-time in kitchens, where he developed a love for cooking and subsequently enrolled at Westminster Kingsway College to study Hospitality and Catering. As his confidence grew, his connection to his Italian heritage came to the fore and he relocated to Verona, joining Chef Stefano Baiocco at the Grand Hotel Villa Feltrinelli on Lake Garda. Rafael’s next move took him to Spain, first working with Martín Berasategui in Donostia before joining Chef Quique Dacosta’s three Michelin-starred restaurant in Denia.

In 2012, he transferred to Heston Blumenthal’s three Michelin-starred The Fat Duck in Bray, where he met his future partner, Charlie Lee. He later joined Simon Rogan and his team for the opening of Fera at Claridge’s in London’s Mayfair, later becoming Head Chef of Aulis, Simon Rogan’s chef’s table concept. In January 2019, Da Terra opened its doors – Rafael’s first solo venture – where he has since earned two Michelin stars. In September 2025, Rafael and Charlie opened Maré by Rafael Cagali in Hove, which was awarded a Michelin star within six months, becoming the first restaurant in Brighton & Hove to receive the accolade since the 1970s.

Jay Styler (middle)

Kerfield by Jay Styler – Second course: Grilled octopus & chorizo shish, pul biber chilli & pickled lemon

Jay Styler is a Michelin-starred chef and co-owner of The Kerfield Arms in Camberwell, which earned a Michelin star within just 10 months of opening in 2025 under Jay’s leadership. Originally from Essex, he followed an unconventional path into hospitality after time spent in music, later honing his skills in leading London kitchens including Elliot’s, Clipstone, and Kerridge’s Bar & Grill.

He went on to lead The Baring in Islington as head chef, working closely with chef-owner Rob Tecwyn. Jay helped establish its reputation for bold, ingredient-led cooking and was essential in turning it into one of London’s most talked-about pubs.

After his time at The Baring, it was then that Jay moved on to The Kerfield Arms. Known for his produce-led, seasonal cooking, Jay’s style is defined by restraint, strong sourcing, and subtle influences from summers spent with family in the Philippines.

Jonny Lake

Labombe by Jonny Lake – Main course: Chicken with a vinegar sauce, Slades Down Farm chicken, cavolo nero and braised shallot

Embarking on his culinary venture in Montreal, Canada, chef Jonny Lake has been on an admirable journey spanning decades and continents. Despite studying physics and biology at university, he decided to follow his growing passion for cooking and feeding others, and enrolled at the Institut de Tourisme et d’Hôtellerie du Québec in Montreal. He went on to volunteer at the meals-on-wheels charity, Santropol Roulant in Montréal, Quebec, before crossing the sea, spending time at various respected restaurants in Italy, before settling at Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck in Bray in 2005. Working alongside Master Sommelier, Isa Bal, he quickly rose up through the ranks and became Head Chef in 2009 and subsequently was made Executive Head Chef at The Fat Duck Group.

In 2019, Jonny and Isa Bal joined forces to open Trivet in Bermondsey, London, where they have developed an approachable yet refi ned offering which celebrates diverse ingredients, dishes and drinks from all around the world. After battling a nationwide lockdown, Trivet won its first Michelin Star in 2022, just a few years after opening its doors to the public. In 2024, Trivet was awarded a coveted second Michelin Star, and has proudly retained its two-star status through 2026, cementing Jonny’s reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative and accomplished chefs.

Continuing to evolve his culinary vision, Jonny later expanded his portfolio with the opening of Labombe by Trivet, which quickly earned a Michelin Star of its own after 5 months of opening, further underscoring his commitment to precision, creativity and world-class hospitality.
