NIHR’s £37m investment in charities to support early career researchers

Several people in lab coats and hairnets work with computers and scientific equipment in a bright, modern laboratory setting.

We are proud to be one of the 89 charities awarded a share of the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) investment of £37m to support 800+ early-career researchers across the UK.

This funding will help us recruit and support the next generation of EB researchers. It is a vital part of our research strategy and will help us deliver key goals, including:

  • accelerating treatments for all forms of EB
  • strengthening EB research capacity and knowledge
  • improving knowledge of EB prevalence and impact

DEBRA UK is one of the largest global investors in EB research, and we are very grateful to the NIHR for its continued support of our research strategy through this latest investment.
