DEBRA Vice-President Graeme Souness, DEBRA CEO Tony Byrne and sports commentator Steve Rider at DEBRA Sporting Celebrity Lunch at M Restaurants, Victoria in London

We're delighted to announce that our Sporting Celebrity Lunch, hosted by DEBRA Vice-President and international footballing legend, Graeme Souness, raised £30,000!

The celebrity gathering at M restaurant in Victoria, London with England hockey icon Roger Dakin as MC, brought together stars of the sporting world including: former Scotland football manager, Alex McLeish; Paul Miller ex-Spurs player; coach, pundit and former player, Les Ferdinand and sports commentator, Steve Rider, who is a long-standing supporter of DEBRA.

Graeme Souness said:

“I am appalled at just how cruel and painful the condition is - more people need to know about EB. If I can generate the sort of passion that I feel for this cause from a few people that I know then we could make a huge impact on the research into EB – research that not only will help those living with this now but could even lead to a cure. Thank you to everyone who came to the event and contributed to this incredible cause.”

The money raised at our Sporting Celebrity Lunch will help us to fund vital healthcare such as specialist EB nurses as well as research, care and life-changing support for the EB community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped raise vital funds to #FightEB!
