Get rid of your unwanted items for good!

Millions of people from across the UK will be able to give away their unwanted belongings to DEBRA from the comfort of their own homes - following the nationwide launch of Gone for Good.

The revolutionary free smartphone app allows consumers to simply upload a photograph of unwanted items. DEBRA will then be able to collect them directly from people's homes.

Users can upload any item. But the app is particularly useful for people such as movers and downsizers who want to get rid of large items of furniture - and do not want to pay costly disposal fees or take them to the dump.

Following a successful pilot in Greater Manchester, Gone for Good is now rolling out its services across the UK over the next month. It aims to help charities, like DEBRA, raise vital funds and stop unwanted items ending up in landfill.

The app matches users with participating charities in their postcode, who actively want to receive particular items and will collect them for free.

Maureen Nickson, Director of Retail England, said: "Gone for Good is a quick and easy way of getting rid of unwanted belongings with a simple click of your smartphone. It will not only help DEBRA to boost their income but prevents thousands of usable goods from being dumped in landfill every year. We are thrilled to be able to join forces with this amazing app."

Gone for Good Managing Director, Mark Charnock added: "Many British Households are filled to the brim with clutter. Gone for Good allows people to get rid of their stuff for a good cause - and all from the comfort of their homes.

"The app is particularly useful for landlords and people moving home as it allows them to get rid of larger items - such as sofas and tables - to good causes for free.

"We have had such a positive response from the public and charities after piloting Gone for Good in Manchester and are please that DEBRA is able to benefit from it."
