New shops on the block!

Customers literally queued round the block to be the first through the door to bag a bargain at the opening of the new DEBRA charity Furniture & Electrical shop at 2-4 Granada House in Maidstone (ME15 6JR). We were delighted to have the Deputy Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Derek Butler officially open the shop at 11.00am on Thursday 25 February.

The shop sells a wide selection of affordable, good quality used furniture and electrical items to raise funds for DEBRA. If you have any unwanted furniture or electrical items you would like to donate to the shop (FREE collection available) please call them on 01622 297539.

On Tuesday 1 March DEBRA Director of Retail England, Maureen Nickson officially opened the new traditional DEBRA charity shop at Unit 12, Rainham Shopping Centre, Rainham (ME8 7HW).

The shop specialises in selling good quality furniture and other large items. As well as furniture, the new shop will have a good selection of bric-a-brac, clothing, accessories, household items, books, toys and media items.

DEBRA Director of Retail England, Maureen Nickson said, "We would like to encourage the local community to pop along to the shop and see what's on offer, you'll be surprised! All donations welcomed.

"Setting up the shop was a big team effort. I'd like to thank the staff and volunteers for all their hard work and efforts. We are always looking for volunteers to help in our charity shops, we are a friendly bunch and new helpers will receive a warm welcome. Volunteers generally work one shift a week with hours to suit them."
