MP visits the DEBRA charity shop in Stockbridge

Edinburgh South MP Ian Murray, visited the DEBRA charity shop at 15 Deanhaugh Street in Stockbridge on Tuesday 26 August 2014.

The visit enabled DEBRA to demonstrate to Mr Murray the great social and positive economic benefits that charity shops bring, especially to the local community in Stockbridge, and how they enable us to raise much needed funds for DEBRA. Charity shops, not only offer good quality affordable goods that have been recycled, therefore diverting from landfill but also, provide jobs and many volunteer opportunities as well as increasing footfall by occupying shops that would otherwise be empty.

Regional Manager Clair Orr said:  “We are delighted that Ian Murray, MP has taken time out of his busy schedule to visit our store. His visit was significant in helping to raise the profile of DEBRA in Edinburgh.”
