Pop-Up Plea After Stirling Store Devastated by Flooding

The DEBRA charity shop in Stirling (Unit 25, The Thistle Centre, Stirling, FK8 2EE) could be closed for months after heavy rainfall in the area caused significant damage. The shop, which is very popular with customers, raises vital income to support the charity’s life changing work.

DEBRA’s Director of Retail, Lesley Gorton, is now appealing for local landlords to come forward and offer temporary premises while repairs take place.  An estimated 10k worth  of donated goods has been destroyed as a result of the water damage.

Lesley Gorton, DEBRA’s Director of Retail, said: “We are absolutely devastated. We have just recently repainted and refurbished the shop and it was looking the best it ever had, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Manager Margaret Thomas and our team of volunteers. The shop is very popular with customers and really does help us raise vital funds to fight EB and provide care and support to the thousands of people suffering from this skin blistering condition in Scotland and beyond. An estimated £10,000 worth of goods, including clothing, has been destroyed as a result of the water damage. Sadly, we won’t be able to sell these generously donated items and we desperately need to replenish our stock to fight EB. If you feel able to help us by donating new stock or offering us temporary retail premises for a period of time when we get back on our feet, please call 01698 424210.”

Please donate items to DEBRA’s Falkirk shop (62/66 High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1DD) while the damage in our Stirling store is repaired.
