Award-Winning Chefs Come Together to #FightEB

On 14 June 2019, four award-winning chefs, including Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton, will come together to support DEBRA and fight EB at the Butterfly Ball at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.

Michelin starred chef Jason Atherton, and three other world-renowned chefs are giving their time for free to support the DEBRA Butterfly Ball. Guests will be treated to a sumptuous four course dinner with specially created dishes from Jason Atherton, Pierre Koffmann, Claire Clark (MBE, MOGB) and Steve Munkley. The evening also includes live music and dancing. Falklands War veteran and DEBRA President, Simon Weston CBE will be a guest speaker on the night. 100 % of the proceeds from the event will help fund specialist EB nurses providing life changing care across the country.

DEBRA Media Ambassador Myra Ali, who has EB, interviewed Jason Atherton at his London restaurant, The Pollen Street Social, ahead of the event.

He said: “I’m very excited to be supporting the DEBRA Butterfly Ball on 14 June. It’s a chance to give back and do what I can to raise awareness of EB and money to fight EB. It’s going to be a packed house with incredible food and a beautiful venue. I look forward very much to cooking for guests at the event and hope people come together to support this important cause.”

DEBRA Member Myra Ali added, “It was wonderful to meet Jason – knowing that Jason and the other amazing chefs are volunteering their time to support DEBRA at the Butterfly Ball means the world to me. EB is an incredibly painful condition which causes lifelong disability. The care and support that DEBRA provides to people like me who have EB is absolutely life changing. I would like the Butterfly Ball to sell out so as many people as possible get to enjoy the chefs’ breath-taking food and we raise as much money as possible to support DEBRA’s work, which makes such a difference to me.”

Tickets for DEBRA’s Butterfly Ball are now available on an individual basis or in tables of ten. Find out more here. Share this page to spread the word and #FightEB!
