A new six minute mini documentary featuring 24-year-old college student Shardai Cousino, who has EB, was released at midnight yesterday, Wednesday, 9 May 2018 – it’s already been viewed by over 13,000 people, raising awareness of EB around the world.

Shardai candidly discusses some of the problems she faces when dealing with her EB,  There is currently no cure and dressing changes, pain management, wound care, malnutrition and dental problems all daily realities.

If you or someone you know has EB, please contact your EB Team for advice on how to manage the issues discussed in the programme. There are a range of specialists available to support you at the four centres of Excellence in EB in the UK and through the clinical teams in Scotland.

DEBRA’s EB Community Support Team is also on hand to provide practical and emotional support, financial help, low-cost holidays and information on lots of different aspects of living with EB. Contact your EB Community Support Manager here.

DEBRA is funding research into more effective treatments for the condition, and ultimately, a cure as well as providing care and support to the EB Community to improve quality of life here and now.

We receive no government funding and are entirely reliant on donations to support our work. Please give now to #FightEB. Thank you.
