Clanadonia help to re-launch DEBRA charity shop

Scottish drum and pipe band Clanadonia performed a rousing set as DEBRA customers and supporters gathered outside for the official opening of the new look DEBRA charity shop in Glasgow.

The newly refurbished charity shop at 15-17 Argyle Street in Glasgow (G2 8AH) was officially opened by Bailie Dr Nina Baker, and was attended by a number of special guests. DEBRA Director of Retail Maureen Nickson, was delighted to attend the event alongside delegates from DEBRA Chile and DEBRA Spain.

The inviting DEBRA store specialises in selling good quality furniture and other large items. As well as furniture, the shop has a good selection of the usual clothes, books, toys and CDs.

Regional Manager Claire Orr said: "We are delighted that Bailie Dr Nina Baker and Clanadonia took time out of their busy schedules to open the store."

"We are really keen to invite local people along to the shop and encourage them to look around.

Re-organising the shop and getting ready was a big team effort. I'd like to thank our volunteers and everyone who came to help. We also need more volunteers to come and help in the shop. We're a friendly bunch and new helpers will receive a warm welcome. Volunteers generally work one shift a week with hours to suit them."
