EB: My Story book now available online

The new booklet, called EB: My Story, contains the real-life stories of some of the children and young people living with EB who visit the hospital for treatment.

Developed by Consultant Dermatologist Professor Celia Moss OBE, together with children’s author Mandy Ross, the book aims to explore the social and emotional impact of the condition. Good technical and medical information is readily available, but there is limited unbiased material accessible to children about what the experience of the condition is really like and the booklet aim to fill that gap.

This is the latest in Birmingham Children's Hospital's (BCH) series of My Story booklets. It was was launched recently with a tea party in the conservatory at the hospital. Other titles in the series include cochlear implants, ichthyosis, cleft lip and palate and alopecia.

EB: My Story was jointly sponsored by DEBRA UK, DEBRA Ireland and BCH Charity.  An electronic version is available to download here.

If you would like a hard copy of the book, they can be obtained free from the DEBRA Head Office. Please email DEBRA's Membership team or call 01344 771961.
