After 12 excellent years of service to DEBRA and the EB community, our CEO Ben Merrett has advised the Board of Trustees that he has decided to resign in order to take some time out for personal reasons before looking for a new challenge. Ben leaves with our thanks and very best wishes for the next chapter in his career.

DEBRA’s Chair of Trustees Jim Irvine said that:

Ben has provided wonderful service to the charity since February 2008 and leaves DEBRA in a strong financial state. The Board is sorry to see Ben move on but we respect his decision and thank him for his many years of service.

Irvine went on to say that a search for a new CEO is underway and that Claire Mather (Director of Healthcare, Membership and EB Support) has agreed to take on the CEO responsibilities in the interim.
