DEBRA’s new 2027-2029 Strategic Plan
DEBRA has finalised and issued its new 2027–2029 strategic plan, setting out a clear three-year direction shaped by the needs of its members and the EB community and backed by leadership and committee approval.
The plan was developed using evidence from key pieces of work, including a trilogy of member focused insights projects, the Global EM Taskforce, which took place earlier this year, and the NHS England Data study, results of which will be published in the coming months. Together, these helped identify the issues and priorities that matter most to the community DEBRA supports.
To respond to those needs, each member of DEBRA’s Senior leadership Team developed an individual plan with input from their teams. These were then brought together into directorate-level Plans on a Page, creating a clear framework for organisational priorities and action.
The plans and supporting summaries were reviewed by Board Committees and refined through feedback. Updated versions were then presented to the DEBRA Board of Trustees in November 2025, with final amendments completed before committee approval in April 2026.
The approved plans now form the foundation of DEBRA’s new three-year strategy covering 2027 to 2029. By combining evidence, team input, and governance oversight, the organisation has created a practical roadmap to guide its work and focus effort where it is needed the most to help ensure important outcomes for everyone affected by EB.
