DEBRA welcomes Kevin Kealy to its Board of Trustees
We are pleased to welcome Kevin Kealy as the newest member of the DEBRA Board of Trustees.
Kevin brings a valuable combination of professional expertise, governance experience, and personal insight to the Board.
Before becoming a DEBRA Trustee, Kevin served for a year as a committee member on DEBRA’s Charitable Purposes Committee, helping to support the charity’s work directly supporting people affected by all forms of EB.
Professionally, Kevin is an electronic engineer with 26 years’ experience, specialising in the development of microprocessors that manage data on solid-state drives. This technical background brings further skills and perspective to the Board as it oversees DEBRA’s strategy, governance, research, and support for the EB community.
Kevin also has a deeply personal connection to DEBRA’s mission. He lives with EB simplex localised and has an extensive family history of the condition. His lived experience gives him a firsthand understanding of the daily challenges and physical impact of EB, and a strong commitment to advocating for people affected by all forms of the condition.
In his role as trustee, Kevin is committed to combining his personal insight with professional governance to help champion DEBRA’s research, support services, and life-changing work for the UK EB community.
We look forward to working with Kevin and to the insight, experience, and passion he will bring to DEBRA’s Board of Trustees as we continue to support people living with EB today and invest in a future where effective EB treatments and cures are possible.
