Become a Trustee

Would you like to think about becoming a trustee?

DEBRA’s trustees are the Governance of DEBRA. They ensure we do what we say we will do as a charity and do it in the most cost-effective and efficient way we can. Working together trustees make sure the charity fulfil ls its aims, hold the executive officers such as the Chief Executive of the charity to account and make sure that donations made to DEBRA support people living with EB and fund high quality research to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for the condition.

The majority of our trustees are elected by you the Members of DEBRA. Others are appointed by existing trustees to ensure the Board has the appropriate range of skills and experience to assist the Senior Management Team by providing guidance and scrutiny. Trustees can serve a maximum of 9 years, (three lots of three years) and so every year there are some vacancies to join the trustee board as people move on.

This year we will have 6 vacancies and if you decide this is something you would be interested in applying for, then your name will go forward for election at the AGM next May.

The process of putting yourself forward is straight forward. The documents below provide more information, please click to download.
