What does the role involve?

Trustees carry significant responsibilities personally. They need to be able to attend and participate in meetings so that they can fulfil these responsibilities on behalf of DEBRA and its members.

All candidates should read the Trustees’ Handbook which gives detailed information about the duties of trustees (available on request from Ade Lawal – details below) prior to confirming their application.

How much time does this involve?

Candidates should be prepared to allow approximately 10 to 12 days per year to attend board or committee meetings, training and attending fundraising and other events. More time is taken up in extensive reading and preparation for these meetings. The more time and effort you put in the more effective you will be in the role of trustee.

Expenses incurred through attending meetings, including costs of a carer (if required) and appropriate training, will be provided at no cost to the individual.
