An 'Increasing Independence' Weekend Away for Adults

When: 18 - 20 October 2019

Where: Liverpool

Cost: £20

Time: 6pm on Friday to late-morning on Sunday

Application Deadline: 9 September 2019

This fun weekend away in Liverpool is for a small number of adult Members who’s EB gives them difficulty functioning physically and who may need or appreciate some additional support to attend events away from home.

What to expect

The aim is to enjoy a break, meet other people in similar circumstances, be more independent and increase confidence. This weekend aims to decrease feelings of isolation and provide the opportunity to try new things in a friendly atmosphere.

A team of specialist EB nurses and Community Support Managers will be available. We will talk to you before the weekend and agree what support we are able to provide to cater for your individual needs.

The weekend will start at 6pm on the Friday when the DEBRA team will be available to ensure you are settled into the hotel.

The first evening will be relaxed with a meal at the hotel and time to socialise and maybe play some games. We will make plans for Saturday, which will be a great day out in this exciting city.

Liverpool has a good selection of enjoyable activities to do from the Historic Docks, the iconic Beatles Experience, The Tate Gallery, river trips to some excellent dining and evening entertainment.

Our weekend together will finish on Sunday morning after we check out from the hotel and say our goodbyes.
