Fundraising in the South, South West and South Wales

Laura PrattLaura Pratt, DebRA's Regional Manager for the South, South West and South Wales, loves looking after her area.

Laura, pictured left in a photograph by Chris Twilley, said: "I meet so many wonderful people and it's a huge privilege to work with them. I am so grateful when someone contacts me to ask if I will help with their fundraising. And DebRA is such a special charity - our members are fantastic and we have some of the best supporters of any charity in the country!

"We do need some help with raising awareness though, so if your club, school, company or church would like me to come along to one of your meetings to tell you more about DebRA and EB, please let me know. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you before too long!"

Please let Laura know of any events you are organising in aid of DebRA.

You can contact Laura at laura.pratt@debra.org.uk or on 023 8084 2905.

Can you help, please?

Collection boxes across the country can raise many thousands of pounds for DebRA. Do you know of a local shop, pub or club that would have one of our boxes? If so, perhaps you could let me know and we can arrange for one to be put in the post - and perhaps you'd be kind enough to look after it for us. Payroll Giving is a wonderfully easy way to support DebRA. Regular donations can be taken from your pay before tax thereby enabling your donation to cost you less - it's almost magic! Please contact me if you'd like to know more about giving this way.

London to Paris cycle fundraiser

Baby Mia died from EB at just 25 days old and, to raise funds for DebRA in her memory, Claire Stanbridge, Nina Couchman and Sue Cowburn will be cycling from London to Paris between 1st and 5th September.

Any support you can give them will be very much appreciated and you can donate here http://www.justgiving.com/Baby-Mia

Chris Saunders - body building for DebRA

Chris knows what it's like to live with EB but he's conscious that many people have far more pain and disability than he has, so he is raising funds for DebRA by taking part in a natural body building competition.

This takes place in September 2010 and Chris is asking people to sponsor him during his gruelling 10 week preparation for the contest. There will be many hours of weight lifting and cardio sessions and he has to follow a strict diet in order to be in the best shape so if you'd like to support Chris's efforts, and perhaps leave a message of encouragement for his tough training schedule, why not donate through his Just Giving page?
