Top Guns Set Sights on Fundraising Target

03 April 2006

TWENTY five top class clay pigeon shots will be aiming to raise vital funds for the EB charity DebRA during the first DebRA Pro-Am Sporting Challenge on October 5.

DebRA supports families affected by EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa), a devastating genetic condition which means the skin blisters at the slightest friction.

All money raised from this exciting sporting event will help DebRA provide nursing and welfare services for EB families and to continue its programme of world-leading research.

Each of the clay pigeon professionals will join one of the participating amateur teams during the event at the West Midlands Shooting Grounds in Hodnet, Shropshire, which is host this year to the British Open Sporting Clay Pigeon Championship.

And there is still an opportunity to sign up for this exciting and challenging event.

The competition is open to 25 teams of four. Entry costs £750 per team which includes:

  • Top CPSA Sporting Shooter
  • Breakfast and late morning snack
  • Lunch in marquee with wine
  • Presentation of the Challenge Cup and Prizes
  • Charity Auction and Raffle
  • VAT

Each team competes for the DebRA Pro-Am Sporting Challenge Cup.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this inaugural sporting challenge event.

Philip Stopforth, DebRA’s Regional Fundraising manager for Birmingham and the West Midlands, said: “This will be a skilful and thrilling competition. While it will be good fun for all involved, participants will know they are helping DebRA continue with its life-changing work.”
