The celebrity world was so moved when we told them about EB and the work of DebRA, that the stars responded to our request for a Celebrity Mad Hatter eBay Auction in their droves and raised almost £6,000.
Seventy celebrities took part in the auction including long-term DebRA supporters Nell McAndrew, Anthea Turner, Uri Geller, Emma Thompson and Graham Norton, and stars such as Barbara Windsor, Bill Nighy, Maroon 5 and Ringo Starr. Seventy three hats from the stars went under the virtual hammer during a three week period.
The most popular hats were Ewan McGregor’s tweed cap, which sold for £920, Alan Rickman’s cap, which went for £895, and Kim Wilde’s hat, which sold for £430. Ringo Starr’s cap also went for £390.
