The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge 2006 was a great success, with around 200 trekkers enjoying great weather and amazing scenery.
A total of 46 teams of walkers took part in the challenging event in aid of DebRA and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
Beautiful weather meant that teams were able to enjoy some stunning scenery during the 24 mile trek, which started and finished at Horton in Ribblesdale.
Local boy Scott Eley, who lives with EB, is pictured right with his mum Elaine. They were there to cheer on the teams, including Scott's father Frank and brother Lewis, who took part.
The first team left at 6.30am on Saturday (9th Sept) and the last team came in at 7.45pm that night. The fastest recorded time was seven hours and 40 minutes.
Andrew Colville, DebRA fundraising manager, said: “Once again DebRA supporters have done us proud by completing the very challenging Yorkshire Three Peaks. This year we had wonderful weather and we are sure everyone who took part had a great, if exhausting, time.
“We are hoping the event raised at least £15,000 for DebRA’s ongoing work.”
