WHAT WILL YOU GIVE UP FOR DebRA?
DebRA is urging people to give up one item from their CD collection during CAF National Giving Week which begins on October 16.
The request is part of a national campaign to encourage people to think about what they can give up for charity – no matter how small – in order to make a positive difference.
DebRA, one of the partner charities involved with this year’s National Giving Week, supports families affected by EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) – a rare genetic condition which causes the skin to blister at the slightest friction.
During National Giving Week a special DVD, which includes a film highlighting the inspirational nature of those living with EB, will be distributed nationally in publications such as The Big Issue and The Financial Times.
As part of the campaign DebRA is asking people to donate a CD to be sold in its chain of DebRA shops, raising much needed funds for the charity.
CDs can be posted to DebRA, CD Collection, 209 Epsom Road, Merrow, GU1 2RB or they can be dropped off at your nearest DebRA Shop.
For a list of outlets visit www.debra.org.uk and click on shop@debra.
Alternatively visit the campaign website www.giveitupfor.org for different ideas on how to help DebRA during National Giving Week.
Bob McDonald, DebRA’s Shops Manager, said he hoped that everyone could give up one item from their CD collection to help such a worthy cause.
He said: “I’m sure everyone has at least one CD that they no longer listen to that might be perfect for someone else. DebRA has almost 50 shops across the UK and they are a major part of the charity’s fundraising operation.
“We rely completely on donations from the public.
“By sending just one CD you could help DebRA to directly support families affected by EB.”
