Penta Consulting
Global staffing company Penta Consulting which specialises in mobile computing has supported DEBRA since 2006, during which time staff have undertaken many different fundraising activities in memory of Max Boyle, whose father Matt was one of their colleagues.
Very few Penta staff were even aware of EB or DEBRA before Max was born with this devastating condition, but immediately they all wanted to demonstrate their support. Four months after Max was born, CEO Paul Clark personally took charge of organising a high profile fundraising evening at Epsom Downs Racecourse where, thanks to great contacts and great generosity, the company raised over £47K.
Over the past five years Penta have held three Family Fun Days in aid of DEBRA, made donations at Christmas, supported various events and a team completed the Great South Run in 2009 and 2011 (team pictured). A real highlight for us was when the Penta team taking part for the first time in 'It's a Knock Out' walked off with the cup!
Everyone at Penta is a huge supporter of the incredible work and research undertaken at DEBRA.
2011 News
Last year's Family Fun Day and Great South Run raised over £3,600 and we were delighted to present this to Regional Fundraising Manager John Parker at our half year meeting in October. John is fantastic and comes along to all our events so he can talk to everyone about DEBRA and the work they are doing. Key to raising money at our Fun Day is paying for the privilege of giving our senior directors a good soaking in the stocks (pictured right) and that's an opportunity grabbed with both hands!
Although Matt no longer works for Penta we continue to maintain strong links with him, his wife Aliza and daughter Erin. Like most companies we are inundated for support from many worthy organisations but the reason we support DEBRA is twofold. Number one: we have seen first hand the incredible support they provided to baby Max and his family and secondly, unlike so many other charities, DEBRA relies entirely on donations.
