TRUSTS AND FOUNDATIONS

DebRA’s work wouldn’t be possible without the help of our supporters and of course this includes charitable trusts and foundations. Some of our trust partners give towards specific areas of our work whilst others give towards our work generally. We value all of them equally and recognise that without them our ongoing mission to defeat EB would be even more difficult.
Our current trust and foundation partners include:
- The Big Lottery Fund
- The Edward Cadbury Charitable Trust
- The Childwick Trust
- The Worshipful Company of Grocers
- The Kirby Laing Foundation
- The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales
- The Frances and Augustus Newman Foundation
- The Robertson Trust
- The Henry Smith Charity
- The Barbara Ward Children’s Foundation
- The White Top Foundation
along with many others, too numerous to mention here. Our sincere thanks and gratitude go to them all.
We are currently seeking funding from charitable trusts and foundations towards a range of projects, including:
- Our medical research programme into the causes of EB and looking at new treatments for the condition.
- Our Children's Nursing Service and Adults' Nursing Services – ten travelling specialist nurses who between them provide medical care to adults and children with EB across the UK.
- Our Social Care Service– six regionally based Social Care Managers who provide information, advice and practical support to families affected by EB on the non-medical aspects of the condition.
- Our Welfare Grants System– immediate financial support for families affected by EB facing unexpected expenses, for example to purchase specialist equipment or to meet travel costs for hospital visits.
