DebRA's £25k boost from Jeans for Genes

GENErate in 2008 with Jeans for Genes!

We’re delighted to announce that DebRA is one of 18 charities who will be receiving funding from this year’s Jeans for Genes Day.

We have been awarded a grant of £25,000 towards the costs of a clinical researcher at St John's Institute of Dermatology in London, working under the direction of Professor John McGrath.

The researcher will be looking at how patients can be offered the best possible care at the National EB Service at St Thomas' Hospital in London and also at how a patient's genes might affect the severity of their EB.

Jeans for Genes aims to change the world for children affected by genetic disorders, and raises the funds to give to charities like DebRA by asking people to go to work or school in their jeans for a day.

Now in its 13th year, the Jeans for Genes Day has so far raised more than £30 million.

In 2008, the Jeans for Genes Day will take place on Friday 3rd October.
